Analytical Response (Pty) Ltd, trading as AR Controls, was initially registered as a company under the Close Corporations Act in late 1995.

The purpose of AR Controls was to render a service and sales of valves to the local industry by acting as a sub-distributor for larger valve companies. It did not take long before the expertise, technical know-how and management of AR Controls was noticed by the international manufacturers on their joint visits with AR Controls to the various clients.

AR Controls was approached in 1998 to represent both Dezurik and Bray on a exclusive basis in Southern Africa. With this expansion, it became evident that we had to register as a Propriety Limited company.

As a company, we are proud of our achievements and strive to further improve by rendering an unsurpassed technical service on the selection and application of industrial valves, together with the supply of high quality specialist process and control valves.
With this extended range of products up for offering, and our quest in seeking new products and accessories to compliment our existing range of supply, the company hopes to develop itself into a household name in the valve market, while continuing to deliver high quality products. Africa, which is mining intensive, hosts a number of opportunities for the company since it is able to provide the products suited for those applications.

The company mainly serves the mining, petro-chem, iron and steel, power generation and pulp industries. More advanced and superior products have been added and the company is continually improving on existing products.

The market is competitive in terms of price and performance, and being price compatible is one of the biggest challenges our company faces, as it's specialized product ranges will never be cheap commodities. Our company competes strongly where performance is concerned and is competitive over time when actual cost of ownership is measured. By being solution-based rather than commodity-based, our company has compensated for more expensive products by providing our clients' products which offer cheaper total cost over the long term.

Apart from importing products, AR Controls locally manufactures Arvalv, which has become a standard on a number of coal, diamond, platinum and copper mines. Arvalv has also been introduced to other mining industries beyond South African borders with resounding success which is testimony of the products' quality and performance. We are proud of our fledging local manufacturing section and will continue to expand by growing this market with innovative products to meet local African mining needs.

To conclude, our company offers a full back-up service by investing in both human capital and plant capital. We have adopted a holistic approach to training of our personnel which is on-going by attending in-house training, and where appropriate, more advanced external courses. The same philosophy applies for the company where profits are re-invested in materials and expansion of stock holding, to further improve our service levels to our clients.

Since our company is solution-based, a lot of time is spent on pre-engineering design to fit custom designed products which suite the requirements and produce the desired result. AR Controls would like to enter into more of a partnership with our customers, whereby it looks at solving or minimizing the problems they experience by using superior products.
