Tobie Oosthuizen started DC Construction in 1998, operating from a small workshop in Middelburg. During the first year of operation, Tobie, who has a legal background and practiced as an attorney before he opened DC Construction, was assisted by Xpert Welding who provided vital technical support.
The initial focus of the company was on the repair and maintenance of copper contact pads and copper pressure shoes for the platinum and copper mining industry. As the business grew, the services offered were expanded to include mechanical steel fabrication and installation. The company moved to Bethal in 2000, and established the office which today is the headquarters from which the company’s operations are managed.
Vivian Swart joined the company in 2003, bringing with him 10 years of experience in the mechanical engineering industry. With his technical skills and professional approach, the company was able to extend their services and add new dimensions to the range of services and solutions provided by DC Construction.
The company, under the expert guidance and skilled management of Tobie Oosthuizen, grew steadily to become an established and respected company in the mining industry. Today, with additional skills and partners, DC Construction is managing and completing multiple projects to the value of R20 million. With a strong focus on complete customer satisfaction and a commitment to the highest professional standards, we expect to be in business a long time.
