Dymot’s area of expertise is winches for conveyor tensioning applications. Our Automatic Take-Up Systems are widely used in the mining industry and involve using electric winches, strain gauges and programmable electronic controllers to control the start up and running tensions on any conveyor. These systems are extensively used underground where the conventional gravity tensioning systems are difficult to accommodate. There are currently over 200 systems operating both underground and overland.

Our Safety Hand Winch range employs an automatic clamping and ratchet type brake that is never disengaged thus ensuring complete safety when raising or lowering a load. These winches are designed to conform to British standard 3701.

Dymot also specializes in Rail Car Moving Systems, Hydraulic Winches, Rope Sheaves, Grease Pumps and Journal Jacks.

All winches are tested and issued with test certificates. Our test equipment is calibrated by the SABS to National Standards. Dymot has full traceability of all components through our in house QA system, which is based on SABS 0157.

Winch hire is also available through Dymot, we have a range of Electric, Hydraulic Diesel Powered and Hand Winches available.

• Take-Up Winches
  The Dymot range of power take-up winches have been specially developed for use on long overland and underground conveyors and are ideally suited for use with automatic tensioning systems.


• Hand Winches
  The new Dymot range of Heavy Load Safety Winches have been specially developed to eliminate the danger found on normal ratchet held loads in hand winches.


• Sheaves
  Dymot manufactures & supplies a full range of sheaves to suit rope diameters of 6Ø to 42Ø.


• Tension Meter
  A rugged low cost tool for easy maintenance of the correct belt tension in all conveyors.


• Worm Winches
  Low cost utility winches for all winching operations. Can be mounted in any position.


• Electric Winches
  These electric winches can only be used in the horizontal mounting position, in this way the oil level in the gearbox is maintained.


• Hydraulic Winches
  These hydraulic winches can be used wherever hydraulic power is available and are ideally suited to mounting in light and heavy vehicles.


• Grease Pumps
  The Dymot D350 grease pump is a portable foot operated pump, cast in aluminium. Standing
  400mm long x 400mm high the pump weighs
  12kg dry and has a capacity of 5kg of grease.


• 12 Volt Winches
  12 Volt Winches for recovery and leisure vehicles. Our 3,5 ton model includes 30 metres of cable, safety hook, roller fairheads and remote controller.
