Company Profile

Born of a need for additional power supply in Southern Africa, Geopower Africa was formed as a combination of the technical skills of RGR Electrical and the financial and administrative resources of the GEO group of companies.
RGR Electrical is an electrical contracting company owned and managed by Robert Rijsmus since 2000. Robert has over 30 years experience in the electrical maintenance and contracting industry. RGR Electrical has the necessary technical skills for the installation and maintenance of the Gensets, the assessment of power needed and the effective substitution and integration of the main Eskom supply with diesel generated power supply. The GEO group of companies is the culmination of 20 years of contracting experience in the civil, mining and exploration fields under the leadership of the major shareholder Dave Rossiter who has grown the businesses into a formidable entity of over 100million annual turnover. The Group has access to over 4000 square meters of factory space, is situated near the airport at Lanseria and is well equipped and poised to supply Generator sets to the whole of Southern Africa.

Geopower Africa has access to assets in the group, including a fleet of maintenance vehicles, trained skilled technicians, steel fabrication facilities, warehousing, cranage, etc and is well equipped to service and maintain our customer base in the generator set market on a professional and first world level.

Geopower Africa receives generator sets from COELMO in Italy. Coelmo was formed in 1946 by the current owner’s grandfather. The company supplies generators to the whole of Europe, Asia, the Middle East and parts of Africa. COELMO gensets are ISO rated in 3 different categories. Reliability, integrity and longevity are the motto of Coelmo gensets. Geopower Africa operates according to these standards to ensure our customer base of the best service available.

Generator Sets
Generating Sets are systems for the production of electric energy. A Generating Set consist of a synchronous generator (alternator) moved by an internal combustion engine. Generating Sets are used for two types of services:

Production Service (Prime Power)
Generating Sets are designed to supply electric energy in places where there are no other electrical energy sources.

Emergency Service (Stand-By Power)
Electric energy in the case of black-out of the network energy distribution, avoiding any serious problems and danger to people and objects (hospitals, industrial installations, etc.)
