More than 25 years of know-how and a patented procedure

In May 2000, the KOCH Group acquired the department for coking plant technology from the former Saarberg AG. With that, FLSmidth KOCH gained more than 25 years of expertise in the design and construction of coking plant facilities, complementing our existing competence in the industrial plant sector.

The core our coking plant technology is our patented stamp charging technology, the most currently available, cost-effective procedure for the production of either low-quality coal or high-quality coke. This stamp charging technology has been refined over decades in by-product coking plants with horizontal chamber ovens, in heat recovery plants, and through continuous development of machine technology.

We supply a broad range of services from the construction of single machines to the design and completion of turn-key systems, from coal-preparation to feeding the ovens. We also deliver economic viability studies, consultations during the change-over of procedures as well as automation concepts, and complete the FLSmidth KOCH scope of performance.

Our portfolio in the coking plant sector also includes world-wide partnerships with the leading manufacturers of coke oven batteries, facilities for energy generation with steam or electricity, flue gas cleaning equipment, and more.
