Crushing Equipment

Crushing Equipment

FLSmidth Minerals has over a century of experience in crushing. As a world-class supplier of crushing equipment for the mining, cement and aggregate industries, FLSmidth Minerals offers crushing products and technology with proven names like Fuller-Traylor, ABON, and Buffalo.

This expertise is supported by more than 1,700 installed crushers, feeder-breakers and sizers. All of our crushing and sizing equipment is available for surface or underground installation, for stationary or mobile applications, and for climatic conditions that range from tropical to arctic.

Gyratory Crushers
Gyratory crushers act as primary crushers, the first to receive blasted material from the mine or quarry.

The Fuller-Traylor brand gyratory crusher is the workhorse of the crushing world, and each is custom designed from standard components to suit specific application requirements. Our primary gyratory crushers feature throughputs to 12,000 tph with installed powers to 1,350 hp.

Cone Crushers
Cone crushers receive crushed material from a primary crusher, and can follow any type of primary crusher depending on the application.
FLSmidth Excel designs and manufactures a proprietary line of heavy-duty cone crushers for mining and aggregate operations. In addition, we provide worldwide repair, rebuild, and field services for all major lines of cone and gyratory crushers.

Roll Crushers
Roll crushers are used mainly for crushing easily fractured materials such as soft limestone, chalk, and clay. In the cement industry, roll crushers are employed for primary and secondary crushing. Depending on the hardness of the material, they tear and crush the material between rollers until it is reduced to between one-third and one-fifth of its original size The Roller Crusher Type E* consists of two rollers with cast bosses. One of the roller shafts is adjustable while the other has a fixed position and is provided with a flywheel. The gap between the two rollers can be varied according to the degree of crushing required. The motor power is transmitted through a gear drive and two cardan shafts to permit the adjustment of the space between the rollers. Both rollers have scrapers to remove any material sticking to the surface.
The Roller Crusher Type E machinery is overload-protected by a plate punching device connected to the bearing of the adjustable roller and a motor safety switch. If an extremely hard object is jammed between the rollers, the punching device is activated so that the crusher and feed stop. The frame structure consists of welded and cast steel parts which are bolted together. The rollers incorporate grease-lubricated roller bearings. The toothed wheels on the gear-drive are oil-immersed with grease lubricated shaft bearings. This attention to detail makes our roll crushers reliable to operate and low maintenance.
The Roller Crusher Type TS**, designed for soft chalk and clay, is fitted with toothed roller sections for tearing large blocks of material before they are crushed in a subsequent process. Roll crusher performances vary according to the degree of crushing required and the consistency of the material.

Jaw Crushers
Fuller-Traylor single and double toggle jaw crusher installations include some of the largest primary jaw crushers ever built. With over 500 successful installations, the Fuller-Traylor jaw crusher has been proven capable of withstanding the extreme conditions of the mining industry.
Both the single and double toggle jaw crushers are constructed of heavy duty fabricated plate frames with reinforcing ribs throughout. The crusher’s components are of high strength design to accept high power draw. Manganese steel is used for both fixed and movable jaw faces.

Feeder-Breakers
Through FLSmidth Buffalo in South Africa, FLSmidth Minerals has extensive experience in the design, development, manufacture, and servicing of feeder breakers.
The original Buffalo feeder-breaker was developed and successfully introduced into coal mines in 1975. Since then, constant product development and innovation has ensured that the Buffalo feeder-breaker has become an industry standard. Feeder-breakers are used mainly in underground, mechanized mining of materials such as coal and potash. The feeder-breaker is traditionally used between the mobile mining machinery and the fixed conveyor systems to reduce product size and smooth the flow on the conveyor belts.

Hammermills
FLSmidth ABON has been manufacturing hammermills for over 30 years and we are the original manufacturers of the Quarrymasta*Kumbee range of hammermills.
In the ABON range of hammermills there is approximately 50 per cent less contact of stone on metal because a high percentage of the material is broken by impact against other material rather than against the breaker plates.
