Refractory Division
IAP holds many years experience in the refractory sector, particularly in the acid plant field. Acid plants usually require roasters, sulphur burners, SO2 burners, converters and pre-heaters to operate. IAP have been lining these types of equipment with refractory bricks and castables since inception.
IAP opened a Refractory Division due the increasing demand for refractory linings outside the “acid plant” scope of work. IAP’s Refractory Division Specialist, Mr Peet Van der Westhuizen, heads this Division. With more than 30 years experience, in this field, Peet Van Der Westhuizen is confidently capable of offering a comprehensive, efficient and dedicated service.
The partnership between IAP and STEULER – KCH of Germany, enables IAP to offer a complete package : from design stage, drawings, all the way through to construction and commissioning.

Our most recent achievement is the construction of the Medupi Power Station Chimney Flues (210m high), to be completed in 2012.
