Conveying principle
The lightweight conveyor is a chain-light conveyor which transports the material in the top race. The buttom race is complety closed and ensures that any fines taken along are returned to the top race. The material is conveyed by pushing, i.e. moving it by mechanical fricition. Power requirements are very modest since the major part of the grain mix has little contact with the tube and frictional resistance is low.
Main field of application
The SMT lightweight conveyor can be integrated into any type of transport, loading and feeding installation and offers a high degree of economic efficiency, e.g. in asphalt mixing plants, in the chemical industry, in the pit and quarry industry, in the cement industry and every other place where bulk goods have to be transported efficiently.
Materials
Basically, almost any kind of granular material can be transported. In the case of large grain sizes, grain sizes distribution, shape and hardness determine the conveyor dimensions. Materials transported to date are e.g. ores (iron, lead, zinc, copper, bauxite), coal, potash, rock salt, limestone, dolomite, mottled sandstone, sand, building rubble and the like.
