SMT Scharf Monorail systems
SMT Scharf Monorail systems are well proven in underground mines for material handling and man-riding. The system ensures that the performance of material supply is not affected by poor roadway conditions, such as floor lift, in curved and undulating roadways.
The safety of operation is achieved with the SMT Scharf RDTS System positively trapping the load carrying bogies and the haulage rope around the rail.
The safety aspect of the system is further enhanced by “fail to safety” emergency braking devices which ensure that in any case of mechanical failure or rope breakage the train comes to a stop within a short distance. The safety brakes are completely independent of other parts of the system and are controlled by an overspeed governor which is installed in every rope driven monorail application.
