Monorail Shunting Trolley
The SMT SCHARF Monorail Shunting Trolley offers a safe and economic solution for short range transport in adverse environments and limited space as e.g. in mining-, tunneling- and- and pipe-jacking operations. Wear resistant friction wheels transfer the power to the web of the I-Beam rails that are suspended from roof bolts or arches. The very compact explosion-proof unit is powered either by hydraulic- or pneumatic motors. For transport distances of up to 160m a roof mounted air hose guiding system may be used. Diesel and battery drive alternatives are also available.
The drawbar pull of 15kN allows the transport of up to 11 tons in a 5 degrees incline. Captivated trolley and the fail-safe emergency brake allow for operation of up to 25 degrees. A light-weight hand control with a trailing cable allows to operate the unit from a safe distance. Typically SMT SCHARF monorail shunting trolley are applied at material transfer points, at face entries in mine developments and in tunneling operations e.g. for transferring of tubbings.
