The conveying means for filling, metering, and discharging


Conveying principle
The tube conveyor consists of a single chain enclosed in a tube. The chain is equipped with scraper disk. It circulates in the tube system and the material is taken along in the space between the individual disks. Material is continuosly taken up and discharged. Circular segments of 90° and 180° deflect the chain via guide rollers. The material can be fed and discharged anywhere in the tube circuit.

Materials
Basically any powdery to granular material up to a grain size of approx. 20 mm can be transported. Grain size distribution, shape and hardness are the factors determining the conveyor dimensions for handling larger grain sizes.
The transport of viscous media e.g. mud or water bath material is possible thanks to use of impervious scraper disks.
Typical materials are food, fodder, chemical products, sand, limestone, fly ash, raw meal, pellets, granulates, fine coal, mud, waste, biomass and the like.

Main fields of application
SMT tube conveyors are used as filling, metering, and discharge systems in the chemical industry, the food and fodder industries, garbage incineration plants, composting plants, building materials handling, coal charging and ash removal operations, hopper discharge and silo filling, and as return conveyors for fines.

Features
It has been developed based on the experience gained with the tube chain system RF which is almost exclusively used under the most arduous conditions of coal mines.

The RS system meets the requirements of the industry as there are:
  • high conveying capacities at low energy consumption
  • favorable overall dimensions due to innovative designs
  • variable line layout thanks to the use of tube bends and deflection stations.
