Zirconium

Zirconium and zirconium alloys can be used in chemical processes where strong acids and alkalis are present, where other material families can not be used. Zirconium can be machined by typical methods but does have a tendency to work-harden during machining; therefore, special tooling is needed during machine to help break through the work hardened surfaces.

The principal Zirconium grades are Alloy 702, 704, 705 and 706. Zirconium is generally available in most mill forms and forged products
