Airmetrics manufactures and distributes the MiniVol Portable Air Sampler. The patented low-flow technology used in the MiniVol was developed by the US EPA and Airmetrics to address the need for portable air sampling.
Operating from rechargeable batteries, the MiniVol is ideal for sampling in remote locations or where line power is not available. The MiniVol operates at 5 liters/minute and features a programmable timer, an elapsed time totalizer, low flow and low battery shut-offs, and rugged PVC construction.
Airmetrics offers a full line of accessories, consumables, and services to complement use of the MiniVol and for other types of ambient air sampling. Services include rental MiniVol samplers, 47mm filter weighing, and calibration services traceable to NIST.
Accessories include siting equipment, while consumables are grease (for impactors), petri slides, 47mm filters, and Tedlar bags.
An enterprise fund of the Lane Regional Air Pollution Authority in Oregon, Airmetrics started operations in the mid-1980s and employs 8 people. Airmetrics sells product world-wide with the MiniVol now found in over 30 countries and used by auto manufactures, mining companies, universities, health authorities, regulatory agencies, and consultants. The US EPA owns nearly 200 MiniVols, which are kept in two repositories.
