BACKGROUND

Buzaphi Earthworks (Pty) Ltd (the company) started operating in the year 2000 as a close corporation, Buzaphi Earthworks and Plant Hire CC, with its main objectives of renting out well-maintained machinery to the mining, construction and earthmoving industries and to be involved in earthmoving projects on a sub-contractual basis.

Establishment of the close corporation came about as the result of the JP Transport and Plant Hire stakeholders’ empathy toward the previously disadvantaged community. They decided to assist Mr. Buzaphi Mpotsha, in establishing the business.

After due consideration of the true intent of black empowerment and to give full effect to their commitment of uplifting the workforce, the founders decided early in 2004 to register the business as a company and to make 20% of the company’s s
