EngNet profiled in prestigious Business Awards

Friday, 30 August, 2002

The Evening Press Newspaper has profiled EngNet as one of the top calibre entrants in its 2002 Business Awards.

These 11th annual awards could not come at a more exciting time, as economic soothsayers foresee such immense growth in the whole of North and East Yorkshire, England, over the next two years that it is likely to skew the figures favourably for the entire Yorkshire & Humberside region.

Already York is basking in the declaration by economic analysts at D & B (formerly Dun & Bradstreet) that it is the best city in Britain to do profitable business, equalled only by Brighton.

Each year the awards have grown in stature as benchmarks of ultimate business excellence in the region and beyond and judging by the tangible buzz the business community is experiencing, an amazingly high standard is expected this year.

Michael Cooney, EngNet's MD, has this to say about the company's performance:

“We receive 800 referrals a day from major search engines from which our results are incorporated. That amounts to more than 300,000 pages viewed per month and 4,000 companies listed on the service. We have more than 50,000 unique visitors to our site every month in addition to our regular visitors. On a daily basis more and more companies add themselves to our engineering directory, thereby making it one of the most comprehensive databases on the internet. When measuring our performance, we rank amongst the top 3 directories in the whole of the United Kingdom.”
