Demo 1: Searching or Browsing for a Product
To demonstrate how EngNet works, we have used an example of searching for suppliers of "Weighing Equipment".
There are two ways to find companies and products & services on EngNet:
- Using the searching facilities, and
- By browsing through our category structure.
Below are examples of the two systems, and how the listing types of the companies affect the search results.
Searching
1. Searching for "Weighing Equipment"
Type in "weigh" in the search box and click on the Search button.
2. Search results page
EngNet has now searched through all categories that match the search word "weigh". This page shows all the categories that have products & services
in which the word "weigh" was found.

Looking through the results, you'll see "Weighing Equipment" is under "Instrumentation & Control > Mass Measurement"
By clicking on a product, you can view a list of suppliers.
Click the "Weighing Equipment" product link.
Browsing
1. Browsing for "Weighing Equipment"
When browsing the users needs to know under what category the equipment will be categorised.
Weighing Equipment is generally an "Instrumentation & Control" product.
Click on the "Instrumentation & Control" category.
2. Main Categories page
Detailed "Instrumentation & Control" categories are now displayed.

Click on the "Mass Measurement" category.
3. Subcategories page
A detailed List of "Mass Measurement" products & services are now displayed. Within this list you'll find "Weighing Equipment".

By clicking on a product, you can view a list of suppliers. You can then filter those by country etc.
Click on the "Weighing Equipment" product link.
Demo 2: The Company Results Page
After searching for a Product or Service, or after searching for a company by name, the Company Results page displays
a list of companies that match the given criteria.

The page shows up to 50 companies per page. To view the next set of results use the links at the bottom of the page.
Features
There are a number of useful features on the Company Results page:
Price / Info Request
A Price / Information Request is a detailed request-for-price enquiry that will be sent to selected companies, along with your details and the details of the products or services that you require.

Limit Companies by Region/Country
You can choose to view only companies in a specific region (eg. Western Europe, Southern Africa, Northern America), or in a specific country.
Limit Companies by Type
Use this option to show only companies that are of a specific type: Manufacturers, Consultants, Agents, etc.
Navigation
- Click a company name to view their details
- Click the website icon
to visit the company's website.
- Click the email icon
to send the company an email.
- Phone the company - telephone the number shown (international code, area code, phone number)
