For many years EMKA have operated on the basis ofsupplying “everything but the enclosure” and increasingly they are also findingthat “everything in stainless steel” is the demand for cabinet hardware asinstallations find more aggressive environments and more challengingregulations. Industries such as food processing and pharmaceuticals have becomemuch more sophisticated and far reaching in their requirements that companiessuch as EMKA now provide a wealth of stainless steel components from hinges andhandles to specialist locking systems. Materials vary from AISI 303 to AISI 316and include fabricated as well as fully machined items with sealing up to IP66.

Stainless steel products are often specified for theirruggedness and for their smooth cavity-free design, e.g. ¼ turn wing knobs forhygiene critical areas. There are also combinations of plastic bodies withstainless components for reduced cost.

EMKA stainless products include 1000 program keylocking stainless steel. These wing, T and L handles in AISI 316 gradestainless come at a high specification for material and sealing at IP65.Standard EMKA modular cylinders and keys complete the package for use in allsorts of arduous, wash-down, corrosive or otherwise very difficultenvironments.

They feature standard EK 333 key types and EMKAstandard 20mm "rounded square" cut-out installation. They also acceptthe extensive range of modular EMKA cams which allow for different depths ofdoors and frames in combination.

A further example lies in the 1097 telescopic staywith push button release which offers the benefits of stainless steel in ruggedcorrosion prone environments.

The 1097, like its "milder" family may beused for support of horizontal or vertical covers and doors on control panels,e.g. rooftop air-conditioning cabinets, for support, or simply as a wind stay.

Standard features of the 1097 (stainless steel) seriesinclude manual release in 382mm extended length. Manual release ensures anadded level of safety - requiring somebody to physically push the releasebutton for release and is especially applicable in outdoor windy conditions.
