WIKA donates blankets to informal settlement
Company News Friday, June 01, 2012: WIKA Instruments (Pty) Ltd.
At a cost of over R 100 000, WIKA Instruments (Pty) Ltd has distributed 600 blankets to the residents of the neighbouring
informal settlement.
Mr Buthelezi, the Chief of the Mangolongolo settlement, was on hand to receive the donation on behalf of the many residents. The ward councilor for the area, Mr Simelani, was also present.
Says WIKA MD, Rainer Holz, "Black Economic Empowerment and employment equity are important issues, which perhaps one day will be helpful to people such as our neighbours from Mangolongolo. What they really do require until then is immediate neighbourly help with their daily plight, particularly in winter. I am sure that the blankets will be a help, albeit a small one."
