Cranes : Jib Cranes

A crane is a piece of mechanical equipment that uses pulleys, winches, and ropes, cables or chains to lift an object. In a jib crane, the cables are connected to a winch that is mounted to a horizontal support beam, also known as a "boom" or a "jib." Depending on the application, the jib can be mounted directly to the wall or to a vertical support beam that is mounted to the floor. The jib can often be rotated to allow for lateral movement of the crane. Jib cranes are often seen inside industrial buildings and warehouses.
