Porvair Filtration Group, the specialist filtration and separations group, has strengthened its position as a leading sintered porous metal manufacturer with the acquisition of Eisenmann Metallurgical LLC, trading as Chand Eisenmann Metallurgical (CEM).

CEM designs and manufactures specialized filters and flow restrictors at a facility located in Caribou, Maine (USA). There is a good commercial fit between CEM and Porvair's existing sintered porous metal filter product portfolio. The combined business, with manufacturing facilities in the UK and USA, is now well placed to offer customers worldwide an unmatched range of sintered porous metals manufactured from materials including Stainless Steel, Bronze, Titanium, Nickel and other high temperature and corrosion resistant Nickel Alloys.

Porvair Filtration Group manufactures an extensive range of porous materials such as porous sintered metal, laminated wire mesh, metal foam, porous ceramics and porous plastics to provide optimum solutions for a wide variety of applications. These materials can be purchased for OEM products or can be integrated and packaged into finished products. Drawing upon an experienced and knowledgeable engineering staff and high quality production facilities, Porvair can produce sintered porous metals in sizes as small as the diameter of a ballpoint pen to large diameter cylinders that are several metres in length. Porvair’s application knowledge is very diverse covering analytical applications such as chromatography column frits, gas diffusers, sensor protectors, flow restrictors and flame arrestors to industrial processes such as catalyst retention, gas spargers and filters.
