3D Measuring

3D measuring is the process of using 3D scanning or digitizing equipment to measure the dimensions of an object. The resulting measurements are used to create computer models to support a wide range of applications, including reverse engineering and prototyping, video game development, and movie production. Scanning methods can be contact-based, such as in a coordinate measurement machine, or non-contact such as laser scanning techniques.
