Morgan Advanced Material supply materials for use within the aluminium industry.

Graphite is commonly used in the aluminium industry. Being chemically inert, graphite will not contaminate the metals. The uniform homogenous structure withstands high temperatures and severe thermal shock without cracking, spalling or causing chips to fall into the melt. Graphite will not melt or fuse at any temperature.

Applications include
  • Degassing tubes for separating impurities from metals in molten states
  • Extrusion runout tables – due to graphite’s inherent lubricating and low frictional properties it is an ideal material for runout tables, as it will not mark or scratch the extruded aluminium shapes.
  • Extrusion guides
  • Disperser shafts, rotors and screws
  • Flow control plugs
  • Extrusion dies
  • Crucibles

Additional anti-oxidant treated graphite material is available to slow down the oxidisation of graphite disperser shafts and degassing tubes.
