Company Description

Wormald Oil & Gas offers fully integrated engineering design, procurement, installation, commissioning and maintenance services for HVAC, Refrigeration, COSHH and Noise Control. The company currently employs around 50 staff including engineers, designers and technicians to service the wide range of disciplines outlined below.

Operations
Based at Dyce, Aberdeen, the client base covers both offshore and onshore works for major operators and contractors including, BP Amoco, Shell, MOUK, Chevron, BOL, Amerada Hess, Kerr McGee Aker, Phillips, Brown & Root, Bluewater and Amec. Our drilling contractor clients include Sedco, KCA, Maersk, Santa Fe, Reading & Bates, Transocean, Noble Drilling and Global Marine.

Design Engineering
Our design team comprises consulting engineers, project engineers, designers and CAD operators whose combined experience has overcome most design challenges likely to be encountered. These include, for example, hazardous area ventilation, smoke and gas ingress analysis, central air conditioning plant, fire damper and ESD systems, galley and equipment rooms’ cooling and relocation of fresh air inlets.

Installation
Our installation team has been developed from our clients’ desire for fixed price 'turnkey' or EPIC projects. This approach has earned our reputation as 'on time/on budget' contractors. Recent examples of this are:-COSHH Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV), galley extract systems, refrigeration plant, ductwork installation, modifications & cleaning and multiple fire and gas damper installations

Commissioning
Our commissioning team has a wealth of experience in setting systems to work, air balancing and trouble shooting of HVAC and refrigeration plant and controls. In this respect we are often called in where others have failed to provide effective solutions.

Offshore Maintenance
The company is presently under 18 long-term HVAC engineering and maintenance operations contracts with clients covering 40 offshore and onshore installations. These clients include: BP Amoco, Marathon Oil, Wood Group/Shell Kvaerner/Elf, Chevron UK, Amerada Hess, Enterprise Oil, BOL and British Gas Expro.

Our maintenance commitments cover not only ‘hands on’ routines but encompass all the management functions traditionally performed by the client:- liaison with regulatory bodies, ensuring 'fitness for purpose', writing planned maintenance routines, scheduling work & reporting, documentation & plant history, performance monitoring, design & consultancy back-up, spares holding & procurement and providing full technical support.

Refrigeration
We carry out all aspects of refrigeration work including: - design, supply, installation & maintenance of new systems, refurbishment of chill rooms & low temperature stores, CFC / HCFC refrigerant gas reclaim & replacement, trouble shooting / breakdown / repair and provide a 24 hour emergency call-out service

Noise Control
Our operations include noise control and attenuation of plant, machinery and duct-borne noise together with surveys and advice on legislative requirements, in particular the Offshore Noise Regulations. Typically, this work impacts on accommodation areas, control rooms and workspaces.

COSHH LEV Assessments
The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations plays an increasing role in the health, safety & comfort of personnel, both offshore and onshore. Under these regulations Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) systems must be tested at least once every 14 months to ensure their performance. Prestaroy Engineers are competent to carry out inspection, examination and testing of LEV systems. Such systems would typically include:- Shaleshakers, Mud Pits, Sack Stores, Desanders, Welding Workshops, Laboratory Fume Cupboards and Blasting and Painting Booths.
