GGB Bearing Technology joins FVA

GGB Bearing Technology, formerly Glacier Garlock Bearings, has become a member of the Forschungvereinigung Antriebstechnik e.V. (FVA). A non-profit organization, FVA is dedicated to research, development and training in drive technology for industrial plants, vehicles, mobile equipment and aircraft. “Drive trains are an important application for our high-performance bearings, and the FVA is where industry and the scientific community meet to advance the technology,” said GGB’s Dr. Peter Decker, technical director of GGB Fluid Film Bearings and newly named member of the scientific advisory board of the FVA. “GGB plans to take an active role in the organization, sharing our extensive experience and expertise in supplying bearings for this industry.” Established over 40 years ago and now part of the Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau (VDMA), FVA has nearly 200 corporate members, all of which are engaged in the production of drive train components, systems and accessories, plus 40 research institutes throughout Germany. As a platform for communication and knowledge transfer, the organization conducts collaborative research leading to the development and commercialization of innovative drive train solutions.
