Edgecard

Edgecard

Product News Thursday, December 8, 2005: In2Connect Europe Ltd

Matching old edgecard footprints can be an engineers nightmare ~ but now In2Connect offer OEM and CEM engineers and buyers a very effective way to solve such time wasting card edge interconnect problems.

Whether for single or double sided PCBs, In2Connect supply a very extensive range with from 2 to 70 contacts, 0.100”, 0.125”, 0.150” or 0.156” contact spacing and dip solder, solder eyelet, extender card, wire wrap or right angled contact tails.

For ‘burn-in’ applications, In2Connect can supply high temperature rated versions capable of withstanding thermal stress for extended periods.

In2Connect build high quality PCB Edgecard connectors for the PC, communications and test/instrumentation sectors.
Design pride and an extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and controls are deep rooted. This has led to a choice of insulator materials, contact styles, plating levels, contact spacing, and mounting configurations that enable the selection of a connector perfectly suited to the needs of the application.

With the new Sullins Electronics high-temperature edgecard series the range now includes staggered dip solder, and card extender/SMT parts as well as those featuring right angle bend terminations. The RoHS-compliant series, featuring 1.00 mm (.039”) contact centers, is engineered to facilitate the durable board-to-board interconnection of .062” +/- .008” daughter cards. Offering 50 signals per linear inch, and rated to withstand -65 t0 150 degrees C continual heat, the double-row connectors provide superior electrical and physical characteristics, along with the utmost in design flexibility, signal integrity and manufacturing efficiencies.

Recognized under the Component Program of UL and C-UL, the connectors are manufactured of high-density dielectric material facilitating their extended -65 to +150 degrees C temperature range. They provide a single contact rating of 1 Amp, and daughter card engagement force of 1.5N (150 grams) nominal per contact. Edgecards are provided with high cycle hairpin bellow contacts in configurations ranging from 2/4 to 50/100 (in signal increments).
