Thornton Precision Components is an internationally recognised manufacturer of high integrity orthopaedic implants. Knee, hip and shoulder components together with highly specialised surgical devices are supplied into a global market in which the Thornton name is synonymous with manufacturing excellence.

TPCL supply precision forgings, castings and machining to the orthopaedic, aerospace and power generation industries around the world.
Products manufactured include hip, knee, acetabular cups & femoral heads, turbine & compressor blades, pipe fittings, soleplates and airframe products. Materials include titanium, nickel & steel alloys & cobalt chrome.

Production capabilities cover the full range of manufacturing options including Precision Forging, 4-Axis, 5-axis and High Speed CNC Machining, Polishing and Superfinishing. Titanium, Cobalt Chrome and Implant Stainless Steel components can be supplied in any condition from "oversize" to "finished prior to sterilisation".
Ongoing investment in the plant and its people has resulted in a comprehensive facility capable of satisfying the growing volumes and increasingly demanding specifications of the medical devices market.

Thornton Precision Components ran their own 'total quality concept' long before 'total quality' became a concept.
