HGC Engineering is a specialized consulting firm in the field of noise, vibration and acoustics. Architects, builders and other engineers often require our services. Building noise and vibration is of concern to residents and also effects sensitive equipment. HGC can provide cost effective solutions for new buildings. A specific area of experience is where new buildings are effected by subway, road or rail sources. In Industry, noise and vibration is often of concern as well. Heavy equipment such as presses and forges require control measures to be successfully installed. HGC provides noise and vibration surveys to many industries including energy, manufacturing and automotive. Noise assessments and impact studies are also common for environmental noise and vibration. HGC also has extensive experience in architectural acoustics, with design assistance for acoustical buildings such as churches, auditoriums, test facilities or office conversions. In research and development, HGC assists improving upon the acoustical or vibration performance of new products or processes for Industry. In all cases, HGC places an emphasis on measurement, testing and analysis. This is accomplished through computer modelling, ray tracing, sound power determination, reverberation controls or the use of sound intensity or finite element analysis.
