I can improve on the definition for 'Tapered Shank Diamond Router Bits': A router is a device that rotates a metal bit at an accelerated rate to produce finished edges and shapes, or to carve and engrave. Routers can be used on a variety of materials from fiberglass and Kevlar to wood. Tapered Shank Diamond Router Bits are one kind of the metal bits used in the machine described above. The tapered shank will transfer the torque of the router to the bit by way of friction between the tapered shank and the slot it sits in. Diamonds line the cutting edge of the bit to penetrate harder substances (such as metal) and abrasive materials (such as stone).
