I can improve on the definition for 'Flanged Ball Valves': Flanged ball valves are quarter- turn and straight through flow valves that can be used to shut-off and control the flow of materials or temperatures. Flanged ball valves can be made of stainless steel, cast iron, copper, PVC plastic, CPVC plastic, bronze, brass, copper ductile iron, and other metal alloys. A ball valve has a spherical enclosure that contains the actual ball shaped valve that rotates to open or close the way for high-volume, high-temperature, or high-pressure substances. Flanged ball valves are made to attach by way of bolting to the main pipes that carry the product to and from the valve.
