Solar Measurement Instruments

The Soma Spectroradiometer is designed to accurately measure the spectral irradiance of artificial or actual sunlight. When used in conjunction with a solar simulator and included software, this solar measurement instrument can test and quantify the light source.

Whether you need to accurately measure the current actual irradiance of the sun, or recreate a fourth of July family outing on a cloudy February day indoors, Konica Minolta has solar measurement instruments to meet your needs. Using a solar simulator without being able to accurately gauge and quantify its output could very well tank your project. That’s why Konica Minolta offers a wide variety of Solar Measurement products. The Soma Spectroradiometer is designed to accurately measure the spectral irradiance of artificial or actual sunlight. When used in conjunction with a solar simulator and included software, this solar measurement instrument can test and quantify the light source. The S-2441/2442 models add the ability to measure pulse type solar simulators with an included trigger collector. It operates off of Windows 2000/XP/Vista (32 bit) and has both spectral irradiance, ASTM and JIS output calculations. Other solar measurement devices include the reference cell temperature controller, a solar measurement device for controlling temperature of the reference solar cell which is equipped with a built-in temperature sensor, and amorphous silicon reference cells in varying degrees used to accurately calibrate your solar simulator. All of Konica Minolta’s solar measurement instruments are held to the strictest of standards for quality to ensure accuracy and precision.

AK-100 AMORPHOUS SILICON REFERENCE CELL

Used to accurately calibrate solar simulator intensity for a-si type cells. Can be used individually or with the AK-110 µ-si reference cell for tandem type cells.
With the current increasing focus on renewable energy, solar cells (photovoltaic cells) are in the spotlight. As companies strive to improve the performance and characteristics of solar cells, it is necessary to perform evaluation of each product under standard test conditions. For accurate measurements, it is necessary to utilize a reference photovoltaic cell with a calibrated short-circuit current to adjust the intensity of the solar simulator to be used for measurements.
Konica Minolta Sensing’s filtered PV Reference Cells have the industries best accuracy and stability (in accordance with JIS C8904). The AK-100 can be used with the AK-110 for tandem type (a-si/µ-si) cells or as a standalone reference for a-si cells. All AK series Reference PV Cells come ready to use right out of the box with a PT-100 temperature sensor and a test report of short circuit current (Isc). They can also be delivered with calibration traceable to NREL.
